AKA- Thanksgiving Day. All in all it went pretty well really. There was way too much to eat, the kids yelled, screamed, ran and had fun in general and there was hardly any drama at all. I call this a success. When it comes to 4 sisters there's ALWAYS something that can come up but this year it went great for the most part. So I was thankful for that.

Sooooooooo here we are now getting ready for Christmas. let me tell ya I haven't done anything yet. I didn't do any shopping on Black Friday. I've decided that those crowds are just too freakin crazy and i haven't found a sane person who participates in them yet. I'm just sayin.......

I have been shopping Craigslist a little and looking around online, but mostly with my kids being 3 adults and one teen, I have no clue what to get them really. I usually don't have to ask them for a Christmas list because I pretty well know what they want but this year, they'll need to get to writing one 'cause i'm pretty well stumped except for Tyler. He wants an Electric guitar to go with his long hair. Gawd help us all. I think *I* want earplugs for Christmas.

Well, it's time to make the donuts. Customers already calling in griping because they bought stuff Thursday and it's on sale lower today and we don't give money back on promotions. You'd think if they were such savvy shoppers they'd have known to wait til Cyber Monday to buy from online lol. Sheesh.

UPDATE EDIT: I talked to the Assistant Principal this morning and explained my irritation regarding the matter. He said and I quote "I have NO idea how this related to an economics lesson but you can be assured it will not happen again. It is not the school's or a teacher's place to express political views". Could it be I've found an Administrative official in Redneck Hell with more than one brain cell? Skeery!

I am so mad I could spit nails and use an Economics teacher's head to pound them in!

Ash came home this afternoon to tell me about the horror show she got to sit through today in her Economics class. Apparently with it being the holidays there wasn't much to do so a video was given to the class to watch.

The video featured the following:

American soldiers lying dead in the road
A dead infant killed in the war
A woman with her face blown off
People who've lost their homes due to the war saying they don't deserve what America is doing to them
Children with their limbs ripped off being carried by their mother

Basically just about every horror of war was displayed and I'd like to know why. I'd also like to know what other schools are showing this video and if the school knew it would be showed or if the teacher is just that damn dumb. It's Redneck Hell so it's entirely possible that he's just that stupid.

The list goes on. This was clearly a political piece against the Bush administration that had no business in the classroom. I expect the school to teach my daughter ABOUT politics and how things work, no problem there, but the school has NO business in trying to teach a viewpoint and certainly not in that manner!

I don't know how Ashley sat through it to be honest. We lost a family friend in Iraq and we still can't listen to songs about the war without crying over losing Bobby and she had to sit through PICTURES of it? Especially the part about the soldiers!

I have my own views about the war. I have my own views about Bush. I would NEVER presume to "educate" someone else's child though. It's not my place and it's not appropriate. I have no problem in telling someone how i feel about things but there's an extent to what should and should not be said to someone elses child. And no one of ANY age should have to watch what my daughter and her classmates watched today whether it is politically motivated or not.

I called the Superintendent this evening and explained what I thought about the situation. They asked that I speak with the school principal regarding the matter. I'm not sure what good a discussion would do really. Nothing he says will take the images out of my daughter's head. The damage is done so to speak.

As for the Economics teacher, he's apparently also a Coach. I hope he has more sense regarding sports than he obviously does in regards to what is and is not appropriate in school. I'll let ya know tomorrow what he says for himself. If he's even got one brain cell he'll apologize profusely and shut the hell up.

Every Christmas one of my favorite things to do has been to try and help another family for the Holidays. It means a great deal to me to share what I can with someone who needs it. I usually can't do a lot but I do what I can.

The problem is that this used to be an easy process. Wal-mart always had a tree that would have paper angels on it and it would show you the age and gender of a child along with their wish list. You just chose the child you wished to help and delivered them to a central location to be handed out to the child at Christmas. Wal-mart around here hasn't been doing it for awhile now though. So the only way to do anything was to know a family who needed help or call local churches. For whatever reason i never even thought of calling the local Salvation Army. Duh Nessa!

Anyway, today I was assisting a customer on the phone who'd purchased something at JCPenny's and i happened to see a logo on the bottom of the page about the Salvation Army Angel tree. As soon as I got off the phone I went and checked it out and it is soooooo awesome!

JCPenny's is sponsoring it this year on their website. You simply go to Angel Giving Tree Online, click "Select Your Angel" and type in your zip code or any zip code you want really. You choose the age of the person you want to help as well as the gender and it gives you a list of the persons in that range that need a little Christmas cheer this year. There are even Senior Citizens in some areas.

Here in Redneck Hell as small a town as we are in I found several children listed so I know there must be many more in larger areas.

Pleeeeeeeeeease consider helping a child or a senior citizen this year. It's really easy and it doesn't have to cost you a lot to show someone love for the holidays. They'll never know you did it and you'll never get a thank you, but from experience I know that it's a wonderful feeling.

FAQ'S

Additionally if you are a family or know a family in need please go to the Salvation Army website to see how you can get assistance for the holidays.

I found this meme through some of the others that I've been doing lately and it looks like fun. Sooooo I'm adding it to my weekly "to-do" list. Join in too, you just might like it.

1. We need to mow the yard this weekend and get it ready for Ashley's bonfire birthday party.

2. Today I thought about a song Tyler used to sing to me when he was little and it made me smile.

3. If you want to achieve anything, you should get off your butt and do it rather than waiting for someone else to do so. I'm just sayin......

4. I'm almost in tears because someone gave Diesel some table scraps and he has gas.

5. Massachusetts has a proposed 5% sales tax on elective cosmetic surgery; I think i don't care because i don't live there lol, it is silly though i suppose.

6. Seeing the smiles on my kids and my family's faces makes for a happy holiday.

7. And as for the weekend, tonight I'm looking forward to, Diesel to running out of gas, tomorrow my plans include working and studying and then some yard work if it's not raining and Sunday, I want to go to the flea market and walk around early before all the irritating people get there who like to stand in my way and let their kids run wild!

1. If you won a brand new house in a Dream House Giveaway would you move into it, sell it to pay the taxes and make a profit, rent it out or give it to a family member/friend who might need it?

I would sell it and then buy 2 practical houses. Move into one and give the other to a needy family.

2. Are you good at billiards?

You're asking if I can hit balls with a stick?Ask my former boyfriends.

3. Does anyone on the planet really want to see Levi Johnston naked in Playgirl (other than when Bristol Palin did)?

I don't but I love that he's doing it and pissing Palin off. I can't believe she's actually a grown woman battling a snot nosed kid. Sure he's a nuisance but shouldn't at least one of them be an adult for that baby's sake?

4. Is your phone ringing right now?

No but give it 30 minutes and it'll be ringing off the hook. No I'm not psychic, I just log into work at 8

5. Do you think man has eaten or tried to eat every type of animal on the face of the earth at one point or another? If not, what don't you think man has tried?

Hmmmm, skunk for sure. I'm certain it's safe!

6. The new movie Avatar has been showing sneak peeks and been hyped to the max. Will you see it?

No, not til it comes out on DVD and the kids force me to do so.

7. If a slightly bigger fish eats a small fish, then a bigger fish immediately eats that one, then an even bigger fish immediately eats that fish and then finally a huge fish eats the one that just ate that fish and it gets caught by you... how many meals will you have from that one fish?

Holy crap, lets talk about how big my headache is just reading that question! I guess it depends on what constitutes a huge fish. I mean a Great White would certainly be more than one meal.

8. If you had an appointment with the doctor and all the plants in the office were dead, would you still see the doctor?

Yeah as long as the patients in the waiting room are still breathing I'm good.

9. Have you ever seen the number 666 in a dream?

Only when i dreamed about my stalker showing up at my house and she had it stamped on her forehead. I wasn't a bit surprised.

10. "At 20 years of age the will reigns, at 30 the wit, at 40 the judgment."~ Benjamin Franklin
So what happens at 50, 60, 70, 80, 90, 100?
50-wrinkles reign
60- sag rules dude!
70-remembering your name is the key to the day
80-oh who cares who you are, change my ass is clearly in charge
90 & 100- Just Waking up is a blessing and a curse

11. Would you want your phone number to be (area code) 123-4567?
No I want it to be 783-362-4824

I think I may have found one of the coolest things ever. Ok, well maybe not THAT cool but pretty great at least. I like free stuff a lot! I also like winning auctions. Now I can do both at one great place. Listia is a free auction site. It costs no money to use it, list on it or sell on it.

The way it works is you get credits for signing up and you get credits for selling items. You can arrange to pick items up locally or you can choose to have items shipped to you. You do have to pay for that part but the item itself is free except for the credits you bid on it.

I was looking around there this evening and found quite a few things that would make great Christmas gifts and since they're free, that makes them even better great Christmas presents lol. I'm actually surprised that I haven't heard of this place before. It really is a well thought out idea and the site is extremely easy to use and understand. Huge bonus there.

There's an option to donate credits from items you sell to charities. There's an option to buy credits if you need them quickly as well. You can earn credits by getting friends to sign up and you can get credits by linking your facebook and twitter accounts too. They've made it really easy to start enjoying this service.

I'm working on earning credits so I can try to win this for Ashley. It's just funky and different enough that she'd like it.
All in all Listia is a pretty neat way to clean out some of that stuff you just can't bear to throw away but don't want to bother listing on other auctions or free sites. Check it out and see what you think. You might find something you just can't live without.

I haven't been able to participate In Craft It Wednesday lately so I'm trying to get back to that. Sooooooo here's my latest submission.

I am making these for my nieces for Christmas. Some of them will be accompanied by children's cookbooks, others with cooking utensils, and all with coupons for their Moms, vowing to help with dishes and other small chores. These are the first 2 i've made so far and are my own pattern.

Join Craft It Wednesday and show off your creations too!

I just wanted to take a moment to thank my stalker and the friends/relatives she is now sending to help stalk me. Your dedication to visiting me daily and your fascination with me is eventually going to allow me to quit my job and blog full time. I have you and your family and friends to thank for that when it happens.

See........every time you come to visit me. Every time you click on a link, Every time you show your sad little self here you help my blog statistics rise and you help make my blog an even more attractive place for advertisers. I received an offer this morning from another advertiser offering me $75 to blog about his website because you and your family have clicked the jewelry link at least 6 times lol. I won't get that $75 for another 30 days, but that's okay. I also got 2 other advertisers who'd like me to host giveaways and get free products to review due to all your hard work. My only request is that if you are going to continue visiting please click on more links. Or better yet, see that google search link up there? Click those often!! That would be GREAT!I know you have nothing better to do with your life than try to irritate me so come on. Really make something of yourself and click more links and read more posts. Is there anyone else you can send to help me out here? Cousins, Aunts, Uncles, or heck, even Mickey & Minnie, I know they have to know you on sight by now.

I don't mind at all, I really don't. I simply feel sorry for you and have for over a year now. My new boyfriend thinks it's hilarious and wonders if it's possible that you like me even more than he does. I'm thinking he mnight be right. So just keep coming and send more people. I can't wait to be rolling in the dough you and your people are going to make me. Early retirement through stalking..who'da thunk it?

Sincerely,

Nessa

We all know that Christmas is a time for families to gather and exchange presents, gossip about the members of the family that aren't there and generally just have a good time. What is often overlooked is how much fun families can have together. Why gossip when you could be playing things like Charades or card games like Spoons? Great game by the way!

I know when we get together at my Mom's house, it's a mad house. We have been blessed with a very large family and it's crazy around there on Christmas Eve, but it's fun. The kids are running around and playing. The older kids are trying to round up the smaller ones and the smaller ones are trying to sneak up to the goodie table. Like I said, It's fun but it almost always causes a huge headache before the night is over. It's chaos, plain and simple.

What I wish we'd do is ohhhh I don't know, maybe take some control back from the young ones and try to control just a little bit of the chaos. Not all, Just a bit. Like maybe play games or watch old family videos or even just sing Christmas Carols. I'm fairly certain the munchkins would never allow it though. They're just children and running around screaming as loud as possible seems to be what they do best. I suppose i'd take listening to them having a good time over them crying or fighting any day and luckily on Christmas Day, I can sit at home and play online bingo in peace.

Ohhhhhhh the Joys of Christmas!

This weeks Theme for the Queens Meme is : ~Do You Believe In Magic~

1. Tell us about your superstitions. Do you have any? Do you "x out" black cats on the windshield of your car, avoid cracks in the sidewalk or practice other rituals that make you feel safer?
Don't have any? Come on now! Make up some....

I don't really have any superstitions except for one. I won't lie about someone being sick if they aren't. Ya know how people call into work and say they're kid is sick or someone died so they can take a day off? Wellllllllll, I'm convinced that if I do this, it WILL happen.

2. Has anything paranormal ever happened to you that you can write about?

Two things actually. In our old house, we had a ghost. In general he was quiet but every now and then we'd piss him off and he'd slam doors. Nothing else, just slam doors. Other than that he seemed to be someone who looked out for us. Twice in about 6 years I was awakened by a really strange sound like a Zippo lighter being opened and closed. Both times there were things going on in the house that could have been dangerous. One was a pan of oil left on the stove with the oven on and it was smoking and the other was a heater sparking. I'm almost positive the ghost was that of a man who had died in our front yard in a fiery car wreck before we moved there. His daughter was Ashley's best friend. He never messed with us except the doors and the strange sound but he sure scared the crap out of the chihuahua the first month or so we lived there.

The other was recently when we went to "Ghost Road" Everyone but me saw the figure of a man walk across the road from about 50 yards away. They could see through him and he was the same color as the dirt road. It was weird because they all sort of gasped at the same time and turned much whiter than the ghost they described. Read about Ghost Road sometime, you'll see why I believe them.

3. Have you ever had a near-death experience?
Care to share?
Only that time I was given a triple dose of morphine at the hospital because 2 people didn't notate my chart. I didn't see any lights or anything, just remember the nurse slapping me trying to wake me up.

4. Pheromones...aka "love fireworks" (I think I remember those)...are a force to be reckoned with. Do you believe that two people can have an uncontrollable chemical reaction to each other? How do you know this to be true?

Oh yes it's true.........as for how I know, just take my word for it lol.

5. Do you believe that modern day witches can put spells on people?
If so, who would you like to hoodoo and why?

Do I believe? No, Do I wish I could if I were a Witch? Oh yeah. Who would I hoodoo? I'd hoodoo my stalker, only it would be for her own good though. I'd put a spell on her dumbass and the idiots she now sends here to stalk me. What would it do to them? The stalker would have an extraordinary urge to get a job and stop using her children as pawns to get her way as well as get over her fascination with me. The idiots would stop enabling her and encourage her to move on with her life just as I have. What she's doing isn't healthy for anyone. It's GREAT for my blog stats though lol

6. ESP! What do those letters stand for in your life?

EEEEKS, Stalkers!! Peeeeeeeeew!

7. Do you ever hear strange noises in your house?
If so, what do they sound like?

Only the Chihuahua snoring and the Rottweiler Farting.

8. Tell us about a time you "knew" something was going to happened before it did. Are you one of those intuitive types or do you know someone who is ? Do tell.

*I* don't think so but my daughter has recently been banning me from saying " you watch, this is what will happen" She swears it does happen after I say it.

9. I'm a tad gifted in the dream department. Really. Sometimes my dreams are prophetic and come true. It can be a blessing and a curse. Has this ever happened to you? If not, would you like to have this gift? (Be careful what you wish for. It can be freaky at times.)

Twice I've had dreams about things before they happened. The first was the night over 100 tornadoes hit Oklahoma. I was dreaming about my Grandma who lives there and ther were tornadoes all over the place as we were driving down the road to get to her house. The next morning my secretary informed me of the fact that Oklahoma had been inundated with tornadoes the same night.

The second was when I dreamed my son was having pain in his side and ended up needing an appendectomy. Later that day he called me from work telling me he was in pain and when he got home I went and ahead and took him into the ER. Sure enough, he was appendix free 12 hours later. I agree, it's creepy as hell and makes you wonder what dreams will be true and what won't.

Daniel, my 20 year old, is saving up to buy himself a vehicle. About 2 weeks ago I went to an Auction where they were auctioning farm equipment and other things such as cars and trucks. No Terri, I wasn't spending money, I was along for the ride. Anyway, It was rather neat actually in a sense that it proved that rednecks have alot more money than the rest of us. Seriously, they were bidding thousands of dollars on these bulldozers and other heavy equipment. Now they also had holes in their jeans and no sleeves on their shirts so maybe they were spending money they had saved on clothing.

Regardless, the cars/trucks, they were auctioning were going rather cheaply. A good decent truck went for around $600. It's obvious flaws were things like ripped seats, ugly dashboards, desperate need of a bath, ya know, things like that but the motors sounded good. Soooooo, Daniel has decided that he's going to take what's he's saved and see if he can get a vehicle at this auction. in the meantime I've been looking for ways to make the vehicle nicer for him when he has the money to spend to improve it. Turns out it's not that hard. he can get seats and such from junkyards that are in perfect condition and dash kits to improve it as well. I would have thought it would be harder really but it seems to be a fairly easy process to restore a vehicle or just add goodies to an already nice one.

This week's Theme:

10 Things You Wish You Knew How to Do

This one should be easier than last week I think. There's tons of things I'd love to do.

1. Kick out all immigrants without a job and those who refuse to learn English.

2. Knit........I just don't get it. I can crochet but I can't knit. I can KNOT very well however lol. Big big knots!

3. Paint pictures. I can paint wood carvings and plaster and such but actually paint a picture...not so much

4. Draw. My kids can do it and very well, but not me. I'm a stick figure kinda girl.

5. Train my dog to just say "hey, i'd like to go potty". Instead she sits at my feet and cries and cries while I work. It's good that she tells me, but I swear she waits til I get on the phone even though i take her out beforehand.

6. Train my other lil yapper not to attack the bigger dogs. Can ya say Napoleon Complex?

7. Have almost the entire staff at Cleveland High School fired except the ROTC commanders and a few others. I'd start with the wicked witch they call a "registrar".

8. Create expensive jewelry. *I* don't like to wear it but for those who do I'd have no problem creating it and taking your money.

9. Find my other sister In Oklahoma. If anyone knows Shanna Rae Capps tell her to find me dangit.

10. Invent a way to keep the grass mowed without actually having to do it.......blech

Why? Because they're awesome! Chocolate cures everything! Well, okay maybe not everything, but it sure makes the bad times seem better.

Now I personally will make the chocolates that I give to my family members and friends because that's what they expect of me. It's a tradition every year for me to make fudge for my family and chocolate covered espresso beans for some friends. I put them in a nice jar with ribbon and they just love it. It's definitely a once a year thing though.

For the rest of the year, A really nice box of chocolates paired with another gift can be quite romantic or sweet when paired with jewelry or flowers. My daughter loves to get a little box of chocolates at Valentines Day or for her birthday. It doesn't have to be a huge box, just something that she likes. There are so many different types of chocolates to choose from that most anyone can be happy with such a gift so it's an easy way to make someone smile whether it's a holiday or a "just because" gift.

A couple years ago I got a canister of cocoa made by a high end chocolate company and it was soooooo wonderful. I'm really a Swiss Miss kind of girl in all honesty but the cocoa was such a sweet gift because the person who gave it to me took the time to find something for me that I would really like. It definitely was something I'd never have bought for myself too, making it that much nicer. Now, if it had just been paired with some John Hardy Jewelry it might have been even nicer. Just kidding! It was a very thoughtful gift and I loved it. Loved it so much in fact that I bought some for the other chocolate fanatic in the family...... my Mother!

Do you ever wonder if the schools have any idea what the economy is like? Who exactly sits and comes up with school fundraising ideas? I don't know about the ones in your area, but the one my children go to seems to be way off base. Tyler brought home a form a few days ago for the latest fundraiser. He's selling cookie dough to raise money for something at school. He's not even sure what they are raising funds for. Regardless, these tubs of cookie dough are $15.00 each. Now, granted it's 3 lbs of dough, but really.......who can afford that right now? I know I can't and truthfully who NEEDS 3 pounds of cookie dough?

Now Ashley's ROTC class, they have a great one, they do a soda sale. It's not any cheaper, it's actually $5 more but it's something people buy. They sell a case of several different brands of soda for $20, which makes the soda's just under $1 each for 20 ounce bottles. No one NEEDS soda either mind you, but if you buy the stuff anyway, it saves a great deal considering most stores sell a bottle for roughly $1.39 each. So it's not only helping the school if purchased from them, it saves the parent money as well if it's a normal expense already being put out.

The same can be said with lots of the other fundraisers the kids have brought home in the past. There are parents like me who WANT to help the school raise needed funds but can't because the schools choose the most outlandish things and the parents either can't afford them or can't talk themselves into putting out the money for something they simply can't/won't use.

Some unique fundraisers i've seen recently have been ones that were online. The parents were given a website that was linked to the account for the school. They could choose items they wanted from a big assortment, pay for it online and have it shipped directly to them. The student didn't have to deliver anything and they weren't responsible for carrying money. I thought this was a great idea just because of it's simplicity.

Another one I liked was suckers. It involved the kids carrying products but they were a whole 50 cents. Which meant that kids in school can buy them. They're affordable. There's no need to wait for delivery and while no one really needs the suckers at any price, at 50 cents it's not a big investment, making it a fundraiser that many can contribute to.

I'm not sure the schools really research these things. I understand trying to find profitable fundraising ideas, but If they did research I don't think they'd be trying to sell $15 cookie dough in this economy. I'm just sayin....

I just got through reading an article about Dog Killer, AKA Micheal Vick. The poor little thing isn't happy with his role in football. Gosh......I'm sure i'm supposed to feel sorry for him that he didn't return to his former glory and I'm positive the idiot thinks that we should all just forget what he did that got him sent to prison.

I can honestly say, "Not a Chance In Hell You Sorry SOB!" This man tortured innocent dogs. He electrocuted them. He drowned them. He forced them to fight for their life and his pleasure! When he was caught it was someone else's fault. He blamed it on culture, not knowing any better, saying he just paid for it to happen despite proof that he was directly involved. He's disgusting!

If anything he should be grateful anyone allowed him to come back to football at all in ANY capacity and that they didn't make him pay THEM to be able to play. I personally think that someone like him is just as bad, if not worse than the players who do drugs, guys who shoot themselves accidentally and those who beat their wives. At least with the drugs and the guns they hurt themselves. The wives will wise up eventually and leave. Those dogs had NO ONE to speak for them. No way to get help! And this jerk isn't happy being a backup???

Can ya tell I'm a little peeved here? I wish he'd had to go through a tenth of what he put those poor animal's through. I wish he could feel the pain he inflicted on them. I still can't believe the damn Eagles brought the jerk on their team and can only imagine it was out of some sort of desperation since McNabb is getting hurt so often in the past years. It's still not right though and he has NO right to complain at all. If this ass was brought on the Cowboys team, I wouldn't ever support or watch them until he was gone. That's saying a great deal I promise So i was a good bit disheartened that Eagles fans welcomed him.

Yes I know he supposedly paid his debt. Don't bother me with that detail. I don't believe he's sorry for anything other than the fact that he got caught. Period. He's trash with money and a very cruel streak that no prison time is going to remove and there's no excuse for what he did. He should be on his knees every day thanking God that the Eagles were desperate or whatever it was that prompted them to hire him and simply STFU!

UGH!!!!!

Until a few months ago, I had never really thought much about Craigslist. Frankly I didn't think it was that great an idea and pretty much ignored it. Then I started hearing more and more about it from Mr. Sexypants, AKA my man, and decided that maybe I should give it a try. Since hours were cut so drastically on my project, any way to make ends meet sounded like a good idea. Soooo, I started out slow. Just an item here and there, nothing too big.

It was okay at first but I soon found out that Craigslist is much like Freecycle. The majority of people I came into contact with fall into one or more of the following categories:

A: They cannot read-
B: They cannot comprehend what they read
C: They're positive they should not ever pay the price listed in the ad
D: They generally don't show up
E: They don't show up, don't send an email and then get really mad when a week later someone else has bought the item
F: They're rude
G: No matter how many times you say in the ad to bring people to load the item, they will come alone and expect you to help.
H: They ask 100 questions and then ask them again in case the answer has magically changed
I: They're annoying as all hell

Now this of course doesn't apply to ALL the users I met. Some were not only very prompt and polite, they were downright pleasant people. They were few and far between though.

Soooooo, I'm thinking perhaps I'll just stick with selling things at the flea market when I feel like going up there. Not that those people are any nicer really, but they're already there lol. That's progress at least right?

What does it mean to you to have courage?

It means doing what's right even when it's not popular, thinking for yourself instead of letting others decide for you, taking a stand regardless of the situation and being able to respect other side of the coin even if you don't agree with it.

Is your favorite time the past, present or the future?

Well, I have to say it's probably the future. Things I've waited for are finally going to happen soon and life is good. I've decided it's only going to get better from now on.

What makes you a good person

I genuinely care about others and would do anything I could to help someone else who needed me to.

We've got a new addition to our family. She's about 7 pounds, 4 of those pounds being hair, big brown eyes and a very sweet disposition. I've tried all day to get a decent picture of her but she's just not cooperating so far. So here ya go. look real close lol.

She's a Yorkiepoo and she's adorable. Minnie pretty much hates her so far, but she hates anything she see's as competition for her Mommy's affection. Diesel, is so jealous of her he can hardly stand it. I walked her this morning and he was not at all happy that I paid attention to her, even momentarily. Sarge pretty much doesn't care one way or another. He's in his own little world as usual and not much gets to him.

She's housebroken, she's sweet and HOPEfully her and Minnie will become friends. She'd be good company for her if she'd give her a chance. Someone her own size to play with.

I named her Nikki Lee. The kids aren't all that happy about it lol, because she's named after Nikki Sixx and Tommy Lee. They think it's a dumb name but I think it's cool and I buy the dog food so the name shall stick. She's goofy like Tommy and her hair sticks up like Nikki's.........I think it fits her!

The tragedy here in Texas yesterday at Fort Hood has many people shocked. I'm sure one of them. It makes no sense to me at all that someone who was supposedly a part of a peace loving religion would take it upon himself to massacre fellow soldiers. Where's the love in that? Where's the peace? What's the point? He was apparently against the war so he killed people?

I don't get it. I'm sure i'm not the only one who doesn't. There's no understanding such a horrible senseless act such as this.

My family's thoughts and prayers are with the families of the fallen and wounded soldiers. May peace find your hearts.

I'm so glad this meme is still around. Some of the others I was involved in went away while I was gone. This one was one I looked forward to though every week so I'm happy it survived. Join it too!

1. Mad Cow disease, Bird Flu, Swine Flu...what barnyard animal will cause the next big outbreak of disease?

I'm predicting Sheep. It will be a very concentrated disease affecting only redneck men and their uhhhh... favorite parts. It will cause said part to fall off. There will be an upside for the community though if these men survive. Since the blood will no longer stay in their penis, more will stay in the brain and potentially cause them to be smarter or at least stop looking for women at family reunions.

2. Sesame Street turns 40 this month. If you were to be on Sesame Street, which character would you want to be in a scene with?

Cookie Monster!!! We have a lot in common.

3. We are out shopping for a new laptop. Which one do you pick and why?

The pretty one that matches my decor of course, duh!

4. Have you ever dried a flower in a book (pressing)? If so what was the flower and the name of the book?

Yes, it was a red rose and I saved it in my big family bible.

5. Do you think it's important to study other planets? If so, why or why not?

Sure, but I have to wonder why we can spend millions to do so and there are still starving children in America.

6. Have you ever walked out of a movie at the theater? What was the movie, how much was the ticket and why did you walk out?

I've never walked out but I almost did from Transformers 2. The theatre had the volume so loud i had to hold my ears because it was painful. Lots of people were doing the same. I filed a complaint with the manager the next day and supposedly they are sending free tickets as a "we're sorry", but they have yet to arrive.

7. Does the city/town you live in have traffic enforcement cameras? Have you ever gotten a citation/ticket/fine from one? If so, did you pay or fight it?

We have them but i'm not convinced they really work. I think they're just there to make you THINK you could be caught OR the rednecks who run the city government don't know how to hook them up.

8. If your neighbor is having a baby would you buy a baby gift for them?
No, I found out the other day that she molested her own special needs child......I report her ass and pray she isn't able to hurt another child.

9. How many questions are too many questions?

Depends how much time I have to answer them. If I'm bored 100 would be doable. if i'm busy 10 can be tough.

10. Do you have a handwritten journal you write in everyday?

No, I never could keep up with them when I tried. I'm just too busy.

11. Have you already made plans for 2010?

Yeah they involve someone getting smacked by reality while I enjoy the show with popcorn and beer. It's going to be a fantastic show I tell ya.

12. Thursday Thunks has a huge party for all those who play along each week. Where is the party, how long does it last and does Kimber fall off the roof dropping crayons? If so, what color of crayon does she fall on?

A party? Hmm I missed that! I'm not sure why Kimber is dropping crayons off the roof but I bet if she falls, she lands on green.

13. We may have "blogger celebrity" questions in the near future. Are you excited?

Oh yes.......I'm not sure I can handle all the excitement I feel right now. I might just have to sit down and not clean house all day as I ponder how wonderful this could be.

With any good thing, there can always be a down side. Christmas is a wonderful time of the year that I look forward to every year. I love the music, the Christmas shows, the spirit, the meaning, you name it. I love, love, LOVE Christmas. I HATE, hate hate, worrying about money to spend for it though. I have a big family and I do my best to get something for everyone in my family or make them something nice. I've mentioned before that I prefer to give and to get the handmade gifts because I love the idea that someone would actually take the time to use their talents, whatever they may be, with me in mind.

When I make things for my nieces, nephews, sisters, Mom or Dad, boyfriend etc, I take into account their favorite colors, things they like, things they need and go from there. So whatever I make them it's designed distinctly for that person. What I tend to forget in the planning is that despite the fact that I'm handcrafting the gift, I still have to pay for the materials. So what can start out as a seemingly inexpensive gift idea, can turn into something much more costly than I'd planned.

Soooo, I try to to start early in the year to get the items made and spread the cost out over a longer period of time rather than waiting til the end of the year and freaking myself out trying to accomplish AND pay for everything. The few times I did that I ended up so frazzled I could barely enjoy the holiday and had to look for emergency loan lenders to be able to get the rest of the materials I needed. Thank goodness the emergency loan was available but had I planned better I could have avoided the need to have use of one.

As it turned out, the emergency loan really saved Christmas for me and made it easier to get things done. I planned well this year and won't have to worry a bit, but Christmas is going to be here very soon. It's nice to know that if I needed it, I could get another emergency loan to make sure I have what I need to see those beautiful smiles on my family's faces.

This weeks Topic: 10 Ways to Waste Time on the Internet

1. Pogo ( I swear it's the most addictive site ever created)
2. Myspace (I love it, but why??? It really does nothing for me and Facebook is almost worse)
3. Google Earth ( sure it's cool but do you know how old some of those images are?)
4. Yahoo Chatrooms ( Seriously, have you ever been in one? There's not a single fat chick with moles or bald beer bellied guy in the place, just ask em. They'll be happy to provide you with a picture of someone else to prove it.
5. Youtube (I've never learned a thing but it's entertaining sometimes)
6. The penguin bowling game ( there's so much that's not right with this game but it's fun anyway!)
7. Myspace applications ( Be a mobster or a rockstar.whatever....people love these but what do they get out of it? NOTHING, BIG waste, lots of fun..sorta)
8. Reading the Craigslist "missed connections" boards. Seriously, what are the chances you'll see a hottie at the supermarket, you post about them on Craigslist and they actually see it and NOT think you're a moron? I'm just sayin.....It is highly entertaining reading though. Great way to kill some time)
9. Online Quizzes ( you can now find out what kind of dog you are, the cereal that fits you best and even what your poo tells about you.)
10. Looking on Ebay for items not overpriced, Good LUCK lol

The excitement is building, the pressure is on. Only 24 more days til Black Friday. All the stores are planning their sales and just waiting for the frenzy of shoppers rushing through their doors to get bargains on whatever their little hearts desire. In short, It's a madhouse. One I don't plan to participate in. Not in the stores anyway. I'll save gas and shop in my pajamas thank you very much.

I've heard that Black Friday 2009 Online Deals are going to be great this year. I'm told that merchants are realizing that without some great deals, they can forget a big shopping season. People simply don't have the money to spend. The money will go where the bargains are the best. Mine will anyway.

Unlike some people I won't mention, I work hard for my money. I don't wait for someone else to work for it and hand it to me. I want the best buys I can get for the things I want to lavish on my loved ones and that means looking for bargains. I find it MUCH easier and more rewarding to look online than rush from store to store only to find the item I want has sold out and I've wasted a trip.

Many merchants offer free shipping and you can even find coupons online to make the sales even better. There's really no downside, except maybe shipping times but that wasn't an issue at all last year so I don't expect it to be this year either. So I look at it this way:
No lugging heavy bags
No "sold Out" after driving to the store
No being trampled (remember last year?)
No crowds
No gas wasted
I don't have to get dressed
No fighting over the "last item"
No lines to wait in

Yeah, I think i'll be staying home for sure. Happy Shopping!!

While I was gone, the Monday Meme that I liked so well was ended so I had to find something new when I found out today. I came across "Manic Monday" and I think this one will prove to be fun. Join in too!

Most of the U.S. observed Daylight Savings Time yesterday. Is it easy or difficult for you to switch your body clock? Do you suffer from jet lag when traveling?

Jet lag isn't an issue for me but the time change twice a year about kills me. I don't need an alarm clock normally. I almost always wake up automatically between 5:45 and 6. It's very very seldom that the alarm wakes me up. For whatever reason when the time changes, it's just awful, especially in the Spring. Blech!

If you had to pick one place in your town to bring a tourist, where would you go?

Lol, Walmart!! I swear the one here in Redneck Hell is like no other ANYWHERE!

When you travel away from home, do you miss it?

The first day, not so much. After that I pretty much just want to go home unless I'm having fun or the people I love most are with me. other than that, I'm not really much of a wanderer. I like to stick close to the casa.

If there is anything I've learned from blogging, it's that getting your Information out there is the key to success. You can blog all day about anything you want, be it important or not and no matter how interesting it is, if no one knows you're there, you won't have readers. It's just that simple.

The same goes with business of any kind. Advertising pays. You don't have to buy commercials for thousands of dollars. You don't have to give away pencils/pens/koozies, etc either. You know all those business cards you have in a pile? How many times have you thought of something you need and remembered you'd received a business card from someone who specializes in that item/service? I do it all the time and it saves me a ton of time searching through the phone book or looking online. Sometimes what's right at your fingertips is the best solution to start with.

Postcard printing is another good way to get the word out when you have sales, new products or just want to thank loyal customers. I had the oil changed in the car about 3 months ago and it's time for it again. The shop I took the car to the last time sent me a postcard a couple days ago reminding it was time for the oil change and offered me a 20% discount as a return customer. They're a tiny bit higher normally than the other shops in the area but with the 20% off they offered, they're more than competitive in their price. PLUS, they performed a service as well by reminding me it was time to have the oil changed. So, who do you think i'll be taking the car to next week?

it's amazing how fast this year is flying by. At the flea market yesterday I saw a sign that said "9 weekends left til Christmas" to that I thought, "HOLY SHOOT!" Well, something like that anyway. Started with the same 2 letters. You get the point though. Guess who isn't at all prepared? Yeah, ME!

Work has been so crappy lately that I could just scream. We keep getting new agents on a project that can't support the ones they had already. I just don't get it. We were cut down to around 14 hours a week, things got better and we could get 23 hours and then new people were hired and we now are back to 14. Not that I have anything against the new agents or anything, I just don't understand how it is that no one can see some of us are dying for more hours. In all fairness, it's possible that the powers that be know more than I do and things are going to get better. Here's hoping anyway.

I have a new project doing tech support for a tax program, so far it's hard but I like it. It makes me think and they say that using your brain is a good way to stave off Alzheimer's in later years lol. I figure with this job, I'll never have a problem.

Anyway, time to make the donuts. Hopefully the customers will be nicer today than they have been lately.
